Originator (最初の百人オリジネーター, Orijinētā) is the term mainly used to refer to first-generation Burst Linkers, as well as the first-generation players of the now defunct Accel Assault and Cosmos Corrupt who's initial players were also called Originators. They obtained the program of each game directly from its developer, and thus do not have Parents. According to Kōzuki Yuniko (Scarlet Rain) considers them to be "real monsters", based on the strength they've gained from sheer amount of time they've spent in the Accelerated World.

History[]

In the year 2039, the Brain Burst program was sent out anonymously to about one hundred first-graders born from April 2032 to March 2033, that lived in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. However, many of them did not survive. Only 30 of them were able to reach Level 2, and after 11 months of Brain Burst's existence, fewer than 20 Originators were left.[1]

While the history of the other two games is fairly unknown, it was revealed the Originators of Accel Assault 2038 were given their program a year prior as the game title implies and the Originators were children who were born around April 2031 to March 2032.

Similarly, the Originators of the trial after Brain Burst, Cosmos Corrupt 2040 would have their program released a year after Brain Burst, with the Originators of that game being children who were born around April 2033 to March 2034.

Special Privileges[]

In order to create a larger player base for Brain Burst, Originators were granted the ability to "recruit" as many Children as they wanted to, although they only obtained the right to make a Child once they had reached Level 2. They also were given a program that checks the compatibility of a potential Child.

However, during the early days of Brain Burst, some Originators abused this feature by "farming" recruited Children for their Burst Points.
