Rin Kusakabe (日下部綸, Kusakabe Rin) is a Burst Linker and the child of Kurasaki Fūko. She is a unique Burst Linker who cedes control to Ash Roller while in battle.
Personality[]
She is a shy girl who has self-esteem problems like Haruyuki. She is also quite clumsy, breaking more than 10 plates and glasses during the summer she worked in a hospital cafeteria.[1]
Background[]
Kusakabe Rin has a brother named Kusakabe Rinta, who often lent her his neurolinker before she had her own. He was a motorcycle racer, and got into an accident which left him in a coma. Rin chose a school in Shibuya so that she could visit him often in his hospital. This led to her working in its cafeteria during the summer, where she met Kurasaki Fūko, who gave her Brain Burst.[1]
Although she is technically the owner of Ash Roller, she is not the one in control of him, who considers her his "younger sister". Whether Ash Roller is Kusakabe Rinta, a copy of him, or a split personality of Rin's is currently unknown. She sees what Ash Roller is doing but they can't communicate with each other, it is the same case with Ash Roller.[2]

She is a short girl who is bit taller than Haruyuki. She has brown-grayish hair and purple eyes.

In Accel World VS Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight, it is instead Rin dressed as a human/sheep hybrid in which she has a red belt around her neck and a yellow attack attached to that. She also has horns on her head.

Trivia[]
- In Episode 24 Rin made a cameo appearance at the end of the episode during the credits, she also made a cameo appearance in the OVA episode Vacation.
- Brain Burst is installed on her brother's Neurolinker, and she uses it to accelerate.[1]
- Rin's family lives in Egota, Nakano and she goes to a private school in Shibuya.[1]
- She met Kurasaki Fūko by accidentally spilling water on her knees.[1]
